Men’s HCA February Honors Are Spread Across Four Conferences

College hockey’s depth is on display with four differnt conferences boasting players in the February honorees announced today by the Hockey Commissioners Association.
Men’s Forward of the Month: Ethan Wyttenbach, FR F, Quinnipiac
(Roslyn, NY)
Wyttenbach continues his remarkable freshman year, leading the NCAA in PPG and recording 9-7-16 in a month where the Bobcats went 6-2-0, ranked #8 in the nation.

Men’s Goalie of the Month: Michael Hrabal, JR G, Massachusetts
(Prague, Czechia)
Hrabal repeats on the strength of his 87-save weekend with nationally ranked UConn, making 50 saves in a 3-3 OT tie and 37 in a 5-1 road win. He averaged better than 32 saves a game in a 4-2-1 month, recording a 1.85 GAA and .946 save percentage.

Men’s Defender of the Month: Abram Wiebe, JR D, North Dakota
(Mission, BC)
Wiebe led all NCAA defensemen, and all NCHC skaters, with 11 points in February. His line of 2-9-11 helped North Dakota to a 5-0-1 month, moving the Fighting Hawks up to #3 in the nation.

Men’s Rookie of the Month: Gavin McKenna, FR F, Penn State
(Whitehorse, YT)
McKenna led the NCAA with 2.33 PPG in February. He is tops in the NCAA in assists per game and add- ed to that record with a 2-12-14 line in February. He is also second overall in the nation in points per game. He set a Big Ten record with seven assists in an 11-4 win over Ohio State (1-7-8).
