Three Finalists Named for Women’s Hockey Goalie of the Year

The Women’s Hockey Commissioners Association has announced the three finalists for the Women’s Hockey Goalie of the Year Award. They are the University of Connecticut’s Tia Chan, Quinnipiac University ’s Felicia Frank and the University of Minnesota Duluth’s Ève Gascon. Gascon is the only repeat finalist from 2025. The winner will be announced during the NCAA Frozen Four at Penn State University.
Two of the finalists are preparing for their conference championships: Frank and the Bobcats play Princeton in a Friday night (7:00 pm) ECAC Hockey semifinal at Lake Placid, while Chan and the Huskies host Northeastern in the Hockey East championship game Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
The Women’s Hockey Goalie of the Year Award was established in 2021. The first three winners came from Northeastern University: Aerin Frankel (2021 and 2022) and Gwyneth Philips (2023). Clarkson’s Michelle Pasiechnyk took home the trophy in 2024 and Wisconsin’s Ava McNaugton was last year’s winner.

Hockey East championship. She
is in the NCAA’s Top Ten for GAA,
save and winning percentage, and
for shutouts.
Felicia Frank -
Quinnipiac
(SO - Gävle Sweden)
Frank has put the Bobcats into
a good position to bring home a
trophy from Lake Placid this weekend. Numbers: 1.54, .941, with 9
shutouts, all in NCAA Top Ten.
Eve Gascon -
Minnesota Duluth
(JR - Mascouche, PQ)
Gascon picked up wher she left
off after last year’s Top Three
season. Her 10 shutouts are
second in the NCAA, her save
percentage of .941 is tied for sixth
(with Frank.)
