Women's Honors: Outstanding Performances Lead to Multiple Honorees

Deciding on this month’s Hockey Commissioners Association honorees was a challenge. And so eight outstanding performers are recognized for our four awards


playerWomen’s Co-Forwards of the Month: Lacey Eden, 5th Year F, Wisconsin (Annapolis, MD)

With five teammates off to the Olympics, Eden put the Badgers on her back and led the squad to a 7-1-0 record in February, maintaining #1 team in the nation status. She went 7-10-17 in those eight games, now the fourth Badger to reach 100 goals.

Kahlen Lamarche, JR F, Quinnipiac (Sudbury, ON)

Lamarche scored 10 goals in six February games, actually scoring all 10 in the last five games of the month. She had four multi-goal games in a 10-3-13 month.

Tillli Keranen, FR F, RIT (Kuopio, Finland) (5 GP, 2-7-9)


playerWomen’s Defender of the Month: Emma Peschel, SR D, Ohio State (Edina, MN)

Peschel and the Buckeyes enjoyed a 7-1-0 month, which included a split at #1 Wisconsin. She led all blueliners with 12 points (3-9-12) in February and had a +5 plus/minus.

playerWomen’s Tri-Goalies of the Month: Ève Gascon, JR G, Minnesota Duluth (Mascouche, PQ)

Perhaps the best of a strong group of February goalies, Gascon went 7-1-0 with a stingy 0.81 GAA and a .970 save percentage. She had four shutouts and had 65 saves in a sweep of Minnesota.

Annelies Bergmann, JR G, Cornell (Detroit, MI)

Bergmann was a perfect 6-0-0 in February, stopping 374 of 381 shots (.956), with a GAA of 1.12. She had two shutouts.

Lisa Jönsson, SO G, Northeastern (Stockholm, Sweden)

She carried NU to the Hockey East championship game this Saturday by stopping 39 of 40 shots in a 2-1 2OT semifinal win at BU. On the month: 4-1-0, .961, 1.28.


playerWomen’s Co-Rookies of the Month: Ava Thomas, FR F, Boston College (Downingtown, PA)

Thomas continued her strong rookie campaign with a 3-6-9 month as the Eagles went 5-3-0, her two game-winning goals the best in the NCAA.

Tilli Keranan, FR F, RIT (Kuopio, Finland)

Keranen averaged 1.8 PPG as she posted 2-7-9 in five games for the Tigers. In a split agaisnt #3 Penn State, she had a pair of assists in each game.
